Meet the team

  • Omid Djalili

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Omid has been making audiences laugh since the 1970s when he entertained guests at his Iranian parents’ guest-house in London. The audiences kept growing and today he is one of the UK’s most-loved comedians, with award-winning global tours.

In addition to stand-up, Omid has acted in an array of Hollywood films, theatre productions and television shows and wrote and starred in The Omid Djalili Show on BBC for two seasons where he showcased the comedic diversity of Britain.

Omid’s career has been marked by a unique blend of comedy, which combines sharp political satire, observational humour, his Iranian heritage and an ability, just as his name means ‘hope’, to find hope and humour in unexpected places.

  • Isabella Djalili-Devine

    PRODUCER

Isabella has been producing and editing films since a child, prodigious on iMovie from an early age. She has since graduated to ‘serious’ stuff with broadcast credits for BBC One, BBC Three, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, and CBBC. But her truest love is finding the right cut to make that joke land on screen.

She’s got a degree in Practical Filmmaking from METFilm School and a Masters in Documentary Film from University of the Arts London where she went deep into the world of improv for one of her student films.

She’s learnt a lot in the last few years, being accompanied by Academy-Award winning producer Lord David Puttnam when she was selected as a Puttnam Scholar in 2021 and in 2016 she had the privilege to be invited to a month-long cinema masterclass in Italy with Iranian cinema legend Mohsen Makhmalbaf.

  • Louis Djalili

    DIRECTOR / PRODUCER

Since finishing his Masters in Film Directing at METFilm School in 2019, Louis has gone on to write, direct and produce 10 narrative short films (officially - he’s done more but doesn’t want people to see those…) and 3 music videos that have been viewed internationally at film festivals. Before that, Louis cut his creative teeth on the boards of the famous (infamous) Nottingham New Theatre whilst at The University of Nottingham, and was involved in 15 productions over 3 years.

He has experience working alongside London’s famous V&A and the Department of Coffee & Social Affairs in creating pieces of branded content which reviewed hundreds of thousands of views.

Louis has also won awards for his short films, with the most notable being Best Mockumentary for his short film, BROASIS, at the Portland Comedy Film Festival in 2021.

  • Ara Devine

    DIRECTOR / PRODUCER

Ara grew up in the rural borderlands of Ireland, where he kept himself busy writing stories for his friends at school.

He has since written, directed and produced numerous short films that have screened internationally at BAFTA, IFTA and Oscar-Qualifying film festivals, including his debut drama, Turf, that won special recognition for Debut Irish Short Film at the Oscar-Qualifying Foyle Film Festival and Best Short Fiction at Louth International Film Festival. He has received funding from the British Council, BBC/Make Film History and Future Screens NI and can be viewed on BBC iPlayer.

He can be found sometimes at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly where is a BAFTA Connect member and will happily buy you a coffee (if you can get the next one).

  • Danny Djalili

    CREATIVE

Danny has an eclectic mix of interests: writing and producing music, acting, dancing and making others laugh.

This combo has seen him naturally take to the comedy stage, performing stand-up across Northern England to escape the seriousness of his Theatre Studies degree at the University of York.
